We asked Newark & Sherwood District Council, why choose TagEvac®?

  • Simple and straightforward
  • Does away with registers
  • Works in a complex building

The existing building (a replacement for two earlier buildings lost to fire) was built during the Victorian era.

It is considered a masterpiece of high Victorian Gothic architecture, entirely asymmetrical, with a gloriously irregular skyline, and crowning ‘grandiloquent’ towers.

It was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and completed in 1863. In 1865 Gilbert Scott reused many of the design details of Kelham Hall on a much larger scale for the façade of the Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras railway station in London, completed in 1876.

In 1903 the Manners-Sutton family ran into financial difficulties and the Hall was sold to the Society of the Sacred Mission and run as a theological college. It was occupied by military forces during World War I, and again in World War II.

Due to dwindling numbers the college closed in 1972 and a year later the Hall became the head office of Newark and Sherwood District Council and remains so to this day. Parts of the building are used for private parties and weddings.

TagEvac®® have supplied their system throughout this complex suite of offices to help Newark & District Council improve their evacuation process. To blend in with the aesthetic quality of the building the client opted for a brushed stainless steel effect for all of their enhanced tag stations. These units display a plan of the local evacuation zone to help the Fire Wardens carry out their checks with a minimum of fuss.

TagEvac® is an affordable, efficient and scalable solution designed to minimise disruption – meaning you can save money by significantly reducing your downtime costs. Get in touch for a free consultation and to find out how we can help you.
